Facial Cleanser and Moisturiser Bar
Plastic bottles and tubes of cleansers and moisturisers. Supposedly you need both, because you can’t clean your skin without making it dry. Misinformation alert.
No plastic packaging! Just a cardboard box. It also contains no palm oil, and has only a few ingredients unlike most mass-produced moisturisers and cleansing products. Normally, you would clean your face and then moisturise because cleaning has made your skin dry. That is not what is supposed to happen. Why do you need a product with a list of 20 odd ingredients to make your face feel clean and then another product to stop your face from feeling dry? You don’t. It’s ridiculous. This bar has three main ingredients (plus water) and does both. Much better for your skin this way.
I am not going to do an average price for this one as some people pay a lot of money for these things. It ranges from £1 bottles of supermarket brand moisturiser to tiny pots of luxury branded moisturiser which costs £50. Not even kidding. These outlier prices are really gonna skew any sort of average. Similar story for cleansers although not so extreme. If you normally buy both a bottle of cleanser and a bottle or tube of moisturiser then yes it will be worth it. £3.50 ain’t too shabby a price for providing both in my opinion. A lot of cleansers and moisturisers cost more than that by themselves. If you just want it for one of those reasons you won’t be out of pocket either looking at some of the prices commercial brands charge. Plus you use two less plastic containers than you would be otherwise, which is great progress.
What is the bar made from?
INGREDIENTS: Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (Shea Butter),, Sodium Olivate (Olive Oil), Sodium Cocoate (Coconut Oil), Aqua (Water),
That’s it. 4 ingredients, one of which is water. If that’s not pure and natural I don’t know what is. Keeping your skin cleansed and hydrated doesn’t have to be complicated after all.

Is it sustainable and environmentally friendly?
Olive Oil does have some environmental issues within its production, mainly due to intensive farming methods. However, a lot of olive oil farming is still done by small scale farmers using traditional methods, which is much better environmentally.
Shea butter is great. It is a very sustainable and environmentally friendly in production, because it does not grow in plantations, (it is therefore wild) and has no need for irrigation or pesticides. Unrefined shea butter is best.
Coconut oil seems to be ok.
How about ethical?
Made in the UK by a small handmade soap business, so ethically we are all good here.

Vegan, not tested on animals, free from palm oil and known skin irritants such as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate’s (foaming agent) and parabens (preservatives).
